To change page format or margins, select the "Format" menu, and then select "Page". You can select a pre-defined format. You can also change the width and height of the page dimensions. The preview pane on the right will reflect your changes.
You can also change page margins. Notice how the preview pane reflects the margin changes.
You can also change the margins on your page by clicking and dragging them in the "Open Office Writer" program.
To change a spacing for a block of text, first select the text by holding the left mouse button and moving the cursor. Release the mouse button and right-click to select desired line spacing. The lines are now spaced.
To change fonts, use the toolbar. You can also change the size and styles, such as: "Bold", "Italic", and "Underline". To change the the style of your existing text, first select the text. Then click on the desired styles.
To add bullets or numbering, first select your text by left-clicking and moving the cursor. Then click the "Bullets" or "Numbering" icon in the toolbar. When you insert a new line, numbers or bullets will continue. To indent text, first select the text, then click the "Increase Indent" icon on the toolbar. The icon to the left will decrease the indent.
To copy text, first select text by clicking the left mouse button and moving the mouse. Now click the "Copy" icon in the toolbar. Click in the document where you want the copied text to appear. Then click the "Paste" icon on the toolbar.
To move text, first select your text. Click the "Cut" icon on the toolbar. Click in the document where you want to move the text. Then click the "Paste" icon on the toolbar.
To undo a change click the "Undo" icon on the toolbar. To restore the change click the "Redo" icon on the toolbar. To undo multiple changes, click the arrow next to the "Undo" icon, and select which changes to undo. You can also restore multiple changes by clicking the arrow next to the "Redo" icon, and then selecting which changes to reapply.
You can search for text and optionally replace it. Click the "Binoculars" icon on the toolbar. Enter the text to find. Enter replacement text. To change all occurrences click "Replace All". You can search for each occurrence of the text to decide if you want to replace it.
A thesaurus helps you find synonyms for a word. First, click on the word. Then select the "Tools" menu, followed by "Language", then select "Thesaurus".
Many alternate word choices are shown. Make your selection, and click "OK".
To print your document, select the "File" menu. Then select "Print". Here you can select the printer.
You can also select which pages to print. Use dash for a page range, and semi-colon for single pages.
Next you can select the number of copies to print. Select collate to preserve the page order when printing.
Once you have made your selections, click "OK" to print.
